These terms are a contract between you and the operator of srt.to. They apply when you use the website, app, API, or any short link we host.
If you do not agree, do not use the service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle data.
The service
srt.to is a URL shortener. You can create short links, QR codes, click analytics, custom domains, workspaces, a public link-in-bio page, and API access, subject to your plan.
srt.to is not a SubRip (.srt) subtitle converter. The domain name is just the brand.
We may change, pause, or remove features. We aim for high availability but do not promise the service will always be up or error-free.
Accounts
You need an account for the dashboard and API. Sign-in is handled by Firebase. You must give a real email you control and keep your login safe.
You are responsible for activity on your account, including links, API keys, webhooks, workspace invites, and bio pages. If you think someone else has access, change your password and tell us.
You must be at least 16 years old.
Acceptable use
You may not use srt.to to:
- Phish, steal credentials, or impersonate another person or brand
- Distribute malware, exploits, or harmful software
- Run spam, scams, or unsolicited bulk campaigns
- Host or promote illegal content, including child sexual abuse material
- Attack, probe, or overload our systems or other people’s systems
- Bypass plan limits, safety checks, or a suspension
- Create links we reasonably believe will harm visitors or the service
You must have the right to shorten and share each destination URL. Visitors who open your short link leave srt.to and land on a site you chose — that site is your responsibility, not ours.
Anyone can report a link. We may disable a link or account without notice if we think these terms or the law were broken, or if a destination fails our safety checks.
Your content
You keep whatever rights you already have in destination URLs, titles, bio text, and similar content. You give us a licence to store and display that content as needed to run the service (including redirects, QR images, analytics, and public bio pages).
Do not submit content you cannot legally share. We may remove it.
Short slugs on srt.to are not your property. We can reclaim reserved or abusive slugs.
Analytics and visitor data
We collect click analytics so you can see how links perform. That includes time, approximate country and city when available, browser language, referrer, and device/browser/OS category. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
If you send click events to a webhook, you are responsible for that endpoint and for telling anyone whose data you pass on, if the law requires it.
Plans and limits
Free and paid plan limits (links, monthly creates, analytics window, members, domains, and similar) are described in the product and may change.
Paid checkout is not always available. If we offer paid plans later, the price and features shown at purchase apply. We may change prices with notice on the site. Fees already paid are not refundable unless the law says otherwise or we agree in writing.
We may apply custom limits to an account.
API, keys, and developers
API access is part of the service and follows these terms plus any notes in the API docs. Keep keys secret. You are responsible for requests made with your keys. We may rate-limit or revoke keys.
Custom domains and workspaces
Custom domains must point at us as we instruct. You must own or control the domain. We can drop a domain that fails verification or is used for abuse.
Workspace owners are responsible for who they invite and what those people can see. Inviting someone shares links and analytics in that workspace with them.
Our rights
The srt.to name, site, app, and software are ours (or our licensors’). These terms do not give you a right to copy the product or use our marks except as needed to use the service.
We may add safety filters, block hosts, or refuse a destination. Those checks can miss things or block a link you think is fine. You can contact us if you think we got it wrong.
No warranty
The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant that redirects, analytics, QR codes, or uptime will be accurate or uninterrupted. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or lost business, even if we were told they were possible.
Our total liability for a claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim, or USD $50 if you paid nothing.
Some places do not allow these limits. In those places, our liability is limited to the maximum the law allows.
Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify us against claims, damages, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) that come from your links, content, visitors, or your breach of these terms.
Termination
You can stop using the service and ask us to delete your account. We can suspend or close an account, or disable links, at any time for a breach, for safety, or if we shut down a feature.
After termination, short links may stop working. Sections that should survive (including acceptable use, liability, and indemnity) stay in effect.
Changes
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top of this page. If you keep using the service after an update, you accept the new terms.
