2. Paste the long address
Use the full destination, including https://. That is the page the visitor should see after the redirect. If the site moves later, you can edit the destination and keep the same short path.
3. Pick a path (or skip it)

What happens when someone opens the short link
srt.to looks up the slug, checks that the link is not archived, expired, or blocked, then sends the browser to the destination with a redirect. That lookup is cached so typical redirects stay fast.
